ROAD WORK NOTICE

Road Construction

ROAD SURFACE MILLING AND PAVING MAIN STREET, COTUIT

The Department of Public Works will be performing roadway improvements on Main Street in Cotuit (from Rt. 28 to Putnam Avenue) beginning on Friday, September 9, 2016. Improvements include milling of existing roadway surfaces, drainage system repairs, and new asphalt pavement surfaces. Work is expected to be completed by Friday, September 23, 2016, weather permitting.Vehicle access during construction operations will be restricted to one lane. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes to avoid the construction work.

Operations will start promptly at 7 AM and run until 5 PM, after which time traffic will be opened back onto both lanes of the roadway.

As always, please slow down and use extreme caution when traveling through the road construction areas and follow posted safety signs.

Contemporary Pastel: Cape Cod Landscapes

This exhibition is a survey of contemporary pastel paintings from eighteen artists who are inspired by Cape Cod. Contemporary artists are drawn to Cape Cod for its light and ever-changing natural beauty. The artists represented in Contemporary Pastel: Cape Cod Landscapes capture snapshots of the Cape’s varied landscapes using a range of techniques from abstraction to realism. The exhibition opens to the public on August 17 and continues through October 2. A reception will be held on Friday, August 19 from 5:30 to 7:00pm at the Museum’s location at 4676 Falmouth Road in Cotuit.

Artists in this exhibit include: Edith Cohenno Bryant, Margaret Farrell Bruno, Susan Carey, Eileen Casey, Ed Chesnovitch, Betsy Payne Cook, Cynthia Crimmin, Kathy Edmonston, Carole Chisholm Garvey, Susan Hollis, David Kelley, Alison McMurray, Rosalie Nadeau, Donna Rosetti-Bailey, Susan Sigel, Jeanne Rosier Smith, Barbara Stone, and Linda Young.

THE COTUIT FIRE DISTRICT WATER DEPARTMENT HAS DECLARED

A STATE OF WATER SUPPLY CONSERVATION

Please avoid all outside water use between the hours of 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM
Residents living in homes on the odd numbered sides of streets are asked to water lawns and gardens on odd numbered days only.
Residents residing on even numbered sides of streets are requested to water lawns and gardens on even numbered days only.
Install rain shutoff devices on automatic irrigation systems. If devices are already installed, check for proper operation.
Water conservation kits are available at no charge upon request.
