A public hearing on the proposed changes to various fees, rates and charges for the Town’s water, sewer and solid waste transfer station operations, that will take effect on July 1, 2022 within the Town of Barnstable will be held on March 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM. The hearing is physically closed to the public but public access is available in real-time through Barnstable’s Channel 18 and Zoom. Those wishing to provide public comment may do so by accessing the meeting via the Zoom link or telephone number and access code below.
Natural Resources is increasing the weekly limit of oysters to one level peck (10 dry quarts) Town-wide per shellfishing week starting WEDNESDAY MARCH 2, 2022! The last day to harvest oysters this season is Wednesday March 30th.
Pavement improvements are scheduled this spring on the following roads in the Town of Barnstable:
Centerville: Holly Hill Rd., Scudder Bay Circle
Cotuit:Cornwall Court, Forsyth Court
Hyannis: Maple Ave., Newton St., Potter Ave.
The Town’s contractor for this project is Lawrence Lynch Corporation. Construction activities will include clearing of overgrowth along the road sides, pulverizing and removal of existing pavement surfaces, drainage improvements, installation of new sub-base materials, installation of new pavement surfaces, and restoration of areas disturbed during the work.
Initial activities such as sign posting and construction staking are scheduled to begin during the week of March 21, 2022.
Normal work hours will be between 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Construction is scheduled to continue through May 27, 2022.
Through traffic will be maintained on these roads throughout construction. Any lane closures will be supported with police details to direct traffic. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes to avoid the construction work
