Oyster Season Opens Wednesday November 6, 2026

Opening day of oyster season is Wednesday November 4, 2026!!!

Oysters have been planted to either side of the landing at Scudder’s Lane, with a low tide of ~1:30PM and is a +1.00 tide. 

Oysters have also been planted off of the Cotuit Town Dock in the Cotuit Bay Relay Area (to the left of the landing if you are facing the water). This is located off Oyster Place Rd, Cotuit. Low tide here will be closer to 2:00PM and is also a +1.00 tide. 

Shellfishing is prohibited after sunset, sunset opening day is 4:34PM. 

Water quality pending, North Bay will open to shellfishing on Sunday November 1, 2026.

The total weekly limit allowed on a recreational permit will be one half (1/2) peck (5 quarts dry measure) per shellfishing week. 

The Bay St relay area has been stocked with quahogs (to the right of the landing if you are facing the water). This area will be recreational only through the end of the year and will also open to commercial harvest effective January 1, 2027.
