Free Fun Fridays

Free Fun Friday: The Big Red House with the Blue Trees

Friday, August 16, 10:00am – 4:00pm

Free Fun Fridays comes to the Cahoon! Stop by the Museum for a fun day of activities and art. To kick off the day, from 11:00am – 12:30pm, steel drum instructor Amy Hughes and her students will play away and lead a drum stick making craft activity.  At 12:00pm, Puppet Man will appear for an hour and from 1:15 to 2:15 Bubble Man will delight us with his giant, floating, magical orbs under the Blue Trees in the Museum’s yard. Admission is FREE for all!

The Museum will be open for free all day from 10:00am – 4:00pm. View the current exhibitions, Exquisite Shells: The Art of Sailors Valentines, Valerie Hegarty: Secrets of the Sea, Selections from the Permanent Collection, and The Blue Trees. Explore the Family Room and learn about why the trees are blue and take a minute to cool off.

Free Fun Fridays are sponsored by the Highland Street Foundation and offers visitors no-cost admission to 100 of the most treasured cultural institutions in Massachusetts. Every Friday, from the end of June through the end of August, multiple sites are open for free.
