TREASURES FROM THE PERMANENT COLLECTION

OPENING RECEPTION – Fri., Oct. 16, 5:30-7:00pm
The Cahoon Museum has been closed at their Cotuit location since December 2013, and a majority of the permanent collection has been in storage. This is your opportunity to experience Treasures: Works from the Permanent Collection from October 11 to November 29, 2015. The exhibition will focus on the themes of the collection including: Martha and Ralph Cahoon; American School; Maritime Painting; Landscape Painting; 19th and 20th-Century Artists; and Contemporary Artists. Included in the exhibition are Reynolds Beal, William Bradford, James E. Buttersworth, Martha Cahoon, Ralph Cahoon, John J. Ennenking, David Erickson, Erastus Salisbury Field, Thomas Hewes Hinckley, Joseph McGurl, Levi Wells Prentice and Thomas Waterman Wood.
ACTIVITIES FOR THE EXHIBITION:
- Free Exhibition Daily Tues – Sat 10am – 4pm & Sun 1-4pm
- Friday, October 16, 2015, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. – Opening Reception
- Tuesday, November 3, 2015, 11:00 a.m. – Exhibition Tour by Cahoon Board Members, Bill Babcock and Barnes Riznik
- Tuesday, November 17, 2015, 11:00 a.m. – Permanent Collection Gallery Talk by Director Richard Waterhouse. This will be Richard’s final talk as Director for the Museum
