Route 28 near Yarmouth/Hyannis Town Line
Massachusetts Department of Transportation Highway Division will be conducting road work in Hyannis near the Yarmouth Town Line
Project location: Route 28 at the Railroad crossing near Willow Street/Yarmouth Road, Hyannis
Description of Work: Railroad track installation and utility relocation of multiple utilities that cross under the tracks on Route 28
Estimated Start Date of Work: March 1, 2021 at 7:00am
Hours of Operation: 24 hours a day; 7 days a week
Description of Traffic Management: A section of Route 28 will be closed between the Airport rotary and Yarmouth Road/Willow Street. Closure controlled by Police Details
Detour: Vehicles travelling west on Route 28 from Yarmouth to Hyannis will be required to travel north or south on Yarmouth Road/Willow Street. Vehicles traveling east on Route 28 from the Airport Rotary will be required to follow detour signs south on Barnstable Road back to Route 28 via East Main Street.
Estimated Duration of Work: March 1, 2021 through March 21, 2021 weather permitting

PLEASE NOTE ***Drivers who are traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution. All scheduled work is weather dependent and/or may be impacted due to an emergency situation.
Route 28 at the train tracks will be closed 24/7 for 3 weeks beginning on Monday, March 1st. Please seek alternate routes to avoid the area as much as possible.
