Absentee Ballots Now Available

Annual Cotuit Fire District Elections
Absentee ballots are now available at the Cotuit Fire Department, Monday – Friday 9am – 4pm, unless the firefighters are out on a call. The last day a ballot may be requested is noon on Monday, May 23, 2022. In order to get the absentee ballot you first complete an application. After voting place ballot in absentee ballot envelope and complete the envelope. Mail to: Cotuit Fire District, PO Box 1475, Cotuit, MA 02635 or leave envelope at the fire station. Charles W. The Town of Barnstable Department of Public Works Solid Waste Division will be closed Monday, April 18, 2022 in observance of Patriots’ Day.  Trash and recycling services will resume on a normal schedule Tuesday, April 19, 2022. For questions, call 508-420-2258.

A public hearing on the proposed changes to various fees, rates and charges for the Town’s water, sewer and solid waste transfer station operations, that will take effect on July 1, 2022 within the Town of Barnstable will be held on March 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM. The hearing is physically closed to the public but public access is available in real-time through Barnstable’s Channel 18 and Zoom. …WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING…

* WHAT…Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph.

* WHERE…The south coasts of both Rhode Island and Massachusetts including Cape Cod.

* WHEN…From late tonight through Friday evening.

* IMPACTS…Travel will be be very difficult especially for the Friday morning commute. A flash freeze is possible later Friday afternoon and early evening.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Snow will overspread the region between 1 and 3 am Friday morning. The snow will quickly become heavy, but change to sleet and rain by early to mid morning on Friday. Precipitation may change back to a period of snow later Friday afternoon and early evening along with a potential flash freeze.
