MassDOT will be conducting work in the Town of Barnstable tomorrow.
Project Location (City/Town): BARNSTABLE RT 28 and Santuit-Newtown RD intersection and RT 28 and 4190 Falmouth RD
Estimated Start Date of Work: Friday, 12/9/2022
Project Type: Roadway Repairs and Improvements.
Description of Work: HMA berm repair, drainage structure adjustments and granite edging adjustments associated with two locations on Route-28.
Contractor: Lawrence-Lynch Corp.
Hours of Operation (Day/Night): Day (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
Description of Traffic Management: Lane shifts and / or alternating one-way traffic controlled by Police Details.
Estimated Duration of Work: One day (12/9/22); Weather permitting.

Transfer Station Closed Wednesday December 7 from 7:30-12pm.
The Town of Barnstable Department of Public Works Solid Waste Division will be closed from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM on Wednesday December 7, 2022 for annual Department-wide staff training. For questions, call 508-420-2258.

The twenty-eighth session of Inside Barnstable Town Government, A Citizens Leadership Academy will begin Tuesday, January 24, 2023. The academy is a 12-week commitment with the goal of educating the citizens of Barnstable about the operations of town government, while also obtaining valuable feedback and participation from those citizens participating in the Academy. The program is designed to advance understanding of and participation in civic affairs as well as to increase awareness of the challenges facing municipal government. Inside Barnstable Town Government began in 2003. To date, over 800 Barnstable residents and employees have participated in the program.
The classes will be on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-9:00 PM and will be held in various locations throughout the Town. The classes will be conducted by Town staff and provide interactive learning experiences, group discussions, and site tours. The program is free of charge and open to anyone who resides or works in the Town of Barnstable. Class size is limited. Please register early to avoid the waiting list.

SANTA’s arrival at Town Dock and the lighting of the Christmas tree has been RESCHEDULED to SUNDAY December 4th (same time schedule).
All indoor events will still be occurring on Saturday as scheduled at HSSC, Library, Fire Department, Cahoon and Freedom Hall.
