11 AM Cotuit Parade Kicks off at Post Office and ends at the Waldorf School Field

4 PM Hyannis Parade Kicks off at Main/Ocean Streets ends at Main/Sea Streets

5-7 PM Town Band Performance on Village Green, Hyannis

Dusk Fireworks over Lewis Bay, Hyannis (September 1, Rain date)

Viewing:  The main viewing locations for this year’s fireworks will be Aselton Park, Bismore Park, and Veteran’s Park Beach.  Kalmus Beach will be available for handicapped parking only.

Fireworks Parking (Barnstable):  A Parking Ban will be in effect South of South Street (Ocean Street, Old Colony Boulevard, Gosnold Street and all streets running off of Gosnold Street) from 5:00 PM to midnight to allow for pedestrian access.  Parking will be available in the North Street parking lots and Town Hall parking lot.  Tow Zones Strictly Enforced.  Carpooling suggested.

Air Quality Forecast

AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 11 PM EDT TUESDAY…

The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection has issued an Air Quality Action Day for Ground Level Ozone, in effect from 11 AM to 11 PM EDT Tuesday July 10, 2018

An Air Quality Action day means that Ground Level Ozone concentrations within the region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards

2018 Cotuit Firecracker 5k

 or on race day from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at Lowell Park

Benefits: Cotuit-Santuit Civic Association & The Cotuit Athletic Association (The Cotuit Kettleers)

Where: 10 Lowell Avenue, Lowell Park, Cotuit, MA 02635

Start Times:

  • 5:40pm for youth six and under
  • 5:45pm for youth 7-12
  • 6:00pm for 5k

Distances:

  • Youth six and under – 100 yards
  • Youth 7-12 – ½ mile
  • Main run 5k

Start Locations:

  • Youth six and under – at entrance to Lowell Park
  • Youth 7-12 – At finish line of 5k
  • 5k – at the corner of Lowell Ave and Main Street

Awards: Prize money to first five finishers, male and female – $250.00 for first, $75.00 for second, $50.00 for third, $40.00 for fourth and $35.00 for fifth. Medals to all youth twelve and under and first through third in each age group.

Age Groups: 20 and under, 21 – 39, 40 – 49, 50 – 59, 60-69, 70 -79, 80 plus

Entry Fee:

  • 6 and under free
  • 7-12 $10.00
  • 13-18 $15.00
  • 19 and over-$30.00 until June 12, $32.50 from June 13th-July 3, $35.00 on Race day
