This certification is in accordance with the provisions of G. L. Chapter 59, §23, as amended.

Certification letters are emailed to the prudential committee and treasurer immediately upon approval, provided an email address is reported in DLS’ Local Officials Directory.

Reminder: Vessel Storage Deadline Approaches

The Harbormaster’s office reminds residents that no vessel shall be stored or placed on any Town property between November 15 and April 15 without written permission from the Harbormaster. Any vessel placed or remaining between those dates shall be considered abandoned property and will be removed by the Town. The Town of Barnstable shall not be responsible for damage to or theft neither of any vessel placed nor for loss of property considered abandoned under this Town’s regulation. Questions? Veteran’s Day Parade Today

Barnstable Veterans Day Parade!

Monday 10 am, November 11, 2019


The parade will form next to the Town Hall Building, extending back to the Village Green and step off promptly at a 10:00 AM.  Proceeding down South St. to Old Colony, West onto  Main St., concluding at the Hyannis Village Green for the Annual Barnstable Soldiers Veterans Day Program. This year’s keynote speaker is Colonel (Retired) Scott A. Romberger, COO of the EOM Offshore Team.

Veterans Day – Monday, November 11th – Third Annual Veterans Town Hall

Immediately following the parade at Barnstable Town Hall, 2ndFloor Hearing Room,  367 Main Street, Hyannis, MA.  The Veterans Town Hall features Ten Minute Testimonies of Combat Veterans: Veterans Tell the Community What It Felt Like to Go to War.  Please join this community event hosted by the Town of Barnstable and the Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center: an opportunity to listen respectfully and demonstrate your interest genuinely.  This is a solemn and non-political event. There is no question and answer period; no debate on the merits or justifications of war; no recrimination or accusations.  This event’s concept was created by Sebastian Junger, Journalist, Author and Veterans Advocate and supported by Congressman Seth Moulton, former Marine and Iraq Veteran.  The Hyannis Elks will be providing food for this event.
